Finding the right place to exchange your sacred vows is among the first decisions you’ll make together as you plan your wedding. Our historic church is the perfect venue for all your needs. The sanctuary features a 15-foot hand painted mural of Jesus as the Good Shepherd, painted ceiling of the Apostles, walls inlaid with gold trim, period chandelier, large stained glass windows, restored historic Gundling organ, and more. For only $800, you can have your wedding at historic St. Paul’s United Church of Christ in Schaefferstown, Pennsylvania.
Booking our historic chapel for your wedding: the basics
The $800 fee charged for a wedding includes use of our facilities and parking lot for your wedding ceremony and rehearsal, as well as honorarium for the officiating pastor, the organist, the custodian, the sound technician, and the various administrative services involved in both the arrangements and ceremony. The balance of your wedding fee must be received no later than 30 days before your wedding date.
Let’s book it!
To book St. Paul’s UCC as your historic wedding venue, contact the church office via phone or e-mail. If you call us at 717-949-3632 and receive no answer, please leave a message and someone will call you back within 72 hours. To e-mail the church, send your message to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Available wedding chapel facilities
When you decide to book your wedding at St. Paul’s, you’ll receive access to our entire church facility to use for the day of your ceremony. In our historic sanctuary, you’ll find beautifully painted murals which serve as an elegant and historic backdrop for any wedding. The sanctuary is located on the second floor of our church building, but don’t worry: there is a chair-lift available for disabled access to the ceremony venue. Our sanctuary is also bi-level, with a balcony overlooking the main floor, so you can seat extra guests if you’re expecting a large crowd for your wedding.
On the ground floor, you’ll find clean and spacious restrooms, as well as a private nursery area for the bride and her entourage to dress and prepare for the big day. Attached to the nursery and restroom area is our multi-purpose room, a large space that could also be used for bridal party preparation. Need more room? Feel free to spread out. Looking for privacy? The shutters and shades can be closed to ensure that your entrance is as breathtaking as you expect. From the multi-purpose room, there is direct access to the front of the sanctuary, which will ensure that curious brides and grooms don’t get a glimpse of one another before the big moment.
Separate facilities for brides and grooms
Located in the St. Paul’s parking lot is our Social Hall, which is open for use as a dressing facility if necessary. There are several classrooms which can be used on the building’s second floor, or you can use the large hall on the first floor. Our social hall also has a large kitchen (additional charges and guidelines for use).
What your wedding package includes
Your $800 fee covers a lot of ground! When we receive your wedding fee, your date is locked in and it ensures that you have full access to our facilities for the day of your ceremony. You’ll also have full access for a wedding rehearsal, if you choose to have one, and to decorate the sanctuary for your special day.
Normally, you’d have to worry about paying an officiant for your ceremony, paying for musicians, paying a facility fee… but when you book your wedding with St. Paul’s, all of those fees are included! The costs for using, preparing, and cleaning the facility are all part of the rental fee, as well as an honorarium for the pastor and the organist. The performance of your service music is also included when your selections are part of the standard wedding catalog. You should meet with the director of music at least 8 weeks in advance of your ceremony to finalize music selections.
Let go of the little things for your wedding day: our wedding services come complete with an in-house coordinator to assist you with all of the day’s necessary details. Your day should be about you, so don’t sweat the small stuff – let us help!
Special wedding services and enhancements
If you would like additional services for your wedding, St. Paul’s helpful staff can also assist with the following:
- Pre-marital counseling course with Rev. Royle
- Special service music from outside the standard catalog
- Additional musicians or instrumentalists per request to the director of music
- Design, creation, and printing of your wedding bulletin
Additional fees may apply for the above mentioned services depending on the request.
